SNOWTAM 2021
ICAO Global Reporting Format (GRF) applicable as of 12th August 2021
A new methodology for assessing and reporting runway surface conditions will be implemented on August 12th, 2021. This ICAO procedure, commonly known as the Global Reporting Format (GRF), enables the harmonized assessment and reporting of runway surface conditions and a correspondingly improved flight crew assessment of take-off and landing performance.
Details to the GRF procedure and the implementation of SNOWTAM 2021 in Austria have been fine-tuned internationally and nationally and published via AIP Supplement (AIP SUP 011/21).
The implementation date August 12th, 2021 is laid down in EU-Regulation 2020/1177.
With AIRAC 12 AUG 2021 the relevant information will be included in the Aeronautical Information Publication Austria (AIP Austria) AD 1.2 (Snow plan).
