The aim of the non-objection procedure is to strengthen EU air carriers and to give them increased opportunities to participate in the market.
For applications by a non-EU air carrier for approval of 7th freedom flights from Austria, the applicant must provide proof that the listed air carriers from the relevant category have been contacted and have thus been given the opportunity to submit an objection to the respective applicant and to offer the service for the requested flight themselves.
Exceptions are: 7th freedom flights to and from Austria, as well as operators that fall under the Paris Agreement and transport within the Paris Agreement countries.
